Everything you need to know about Swanny youth/cadet members!

The Swanny Cadet membership category is for members aged 13 and 14 years, and the Youth membership category is for members aged 15 to 18.

Our Under 13 and Under 14 members are known as Cadets and work towards their Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC). Once complete, they are rostered onto a patrol as a full patrolling lifesaver.

If a Cadet has already gained their SRC they will requalify it early in the season and attend Sunday morning activities.

Youth members are those aged Under 15 through to Under 19, gaining their Bronze Medallion once they have turned 15.

All our Cadet and Youth members are invited to attend Sunday activities from 9am to further develop skills across all disciplines of surf life saving.

There’s also social activities held throughout the season.

Becoming a youth and cadet member is the beginning of the road as a surf lifesaver. You will learn basic surf awareness skills, as well as how to perform rescues and work in a patrol setting. Each patrol has experienced members, and this is a great way to learn how to become a lifesaver, meet new people and keep our amazing beach safe!
