Presidents' Cup Results Season 2022/23

Congratulations to Callum Griffiths who is the winner* of the Presidents' Cup for Season 2022/23, in a comfortable finish 30 seconds in front of Alen Pezin. John Henderson was third, apologies for getting this result wrong in the on beach announcement. Presidents Cup 202223 Thirteen swimmers contested the Presidents' Cup this season.  Mild amount of faff so we probably started 12 minutes late. Mild hiccup in setting the buoys when I couldn't get the Patrol Tower roller door pen so had to use the ATV on the beach after detaching the surf boat trailer. Then a spare buoy came free and was making good progress out to sea until rescued by the IRB. Thank you to Harry, Peter K, Leavo and others who volunteered as water safety and to Ray and Rhodri for driving the IRB. Thanks to Hugh (partner of one of the swimmers) and Glenda (Marketing) for timekeeping including video-ing the finish to allow for playback and confirmation of the results. Swimming conditions were great with reasonably calm ocean in the easterly although visibility wasn't great. Callum Griffiths was fastest for the fourth successive season, the fifth time in this event, the fourteenth time in swim trophies and the sixteenth time in perpetual trophies.
