F. E. Ford Cup Results Season 2024/25

Congratulations to Kristie Orchard who is the winner* of the F. E. Ford Cup for Season 2024/25, hot on the heels (palms?) of her win in the Oldham Memorial Cup, in front of Alen Pazin 20 sec behind and Philip Cave a further 12 secs back. Respectable handicapping saw the swimmers finish in three groups. Fastest was Josh Engelbrecht, just over 2 minutes faster than Alen.

Kristie completes the Oldham Memorial Cup - F. E. Ford Cup double, the ninth to do so, after Amy Prosser 2014/15, Lisa Iannello 2012/13, Ross Bosworth 1984/85, Brian Jones 1977/78, Don 'Çhippy' Greenhill '1972/73, Laurie Healy 1964/65, Kevin Kemp 1952/53 and Tom Woodall 1939/40 (actually a Kirby Cup - Mercer Cup double!).

Eleven swimmers contested the F. E. Ford Cup this season. Thank you to Oli Defrancesco (Susie's water safety), Lydia Defrancesco, Ali Stickland, Liv Gilmour and Finlay Preston for water safety . Thanks to Timothy Tucak for timekeeping and recording. Swimming conditions were good with a calm ocean, filled with open water swimmers practising for Rottnest. A seal was encountered whilst setting the turning buoys and was later sighted north of the course.
