What are Points Races?
Points Races are a friendly way of staying fit. We time and record the results of those that compete and results are published weekly online. All are welcome to participate. At the end of the Season, the male and female with the highest number of points will be crowned the Points Races Champions! Come down to practice your run-swim-run and catch up with the Swanny crew for some friendly competition.
Points Races kick off at 10:00am (when Nippers is on, otherwise 9.00 am unless following a Trophy Event) but things are pretty casual at Swanny so start times and the number of events can vary. You will however be guaranteed to be able to tackle at least a Long Run (only 1200 m!), Long Swim (in theory 400 m) and a Run-Swim-Run (200 m run + 200 m swim + 200 m run). If conditions and enthusiasm are ripe then a Board Race, Ski or Beach Sprints/Flags may be added to the program.
