Education at Swanny

Swanny Surf Club places a high priority on education. Whether it be ensuring members are adequately prepared to perform rescues, introducing children to the dangers of the beach or educating members in first aid and CPR, Swanny is committed to saving lives.

New members typically first attain the Bronze Medallion, the minimum standard to start patrolling. In subsequent years members are encouraged to upgrade their skills and attain various ‘Higher Awards’, enabling them to take on further responsibilities whilst on patrol.

Upcoming courses will be posted as they become available – on this page, via the Swanny Shorebreak eNewsletter, directly emailing those that have registered an interest and via the SNSLSC Higher Awards Facebook page (link available on the Swanbourne Nedlands surf lifesaving club private group).
