Education at Swanny

Swanny Surf Club places a high priority on education. Whether it be ensuring members are adequately prepared to perform rescues, introducing children to the dangers of the beach or educating members in first aid and CPR, Swanny is committed to saving lives.

New members typically first attain the Bronze Medallion, however you can begin patrolling as an award holder if there are barriers to obtaining your Bronze.

To consider being an “award holder” please contact both the Lifesaving Manager lifesaving@swannysurfclub.org.au and the Higher Awards Officer higherawards@swannysurfclub.org.au to discuss further.

After obtaining your Bronze you are encouraged to upgrade your skills and attain various Higher Awards, enabling you to take on further responsibilities whist on patrol. A list of higher awards courses and dates can be found here.

Upcoming courses will be posted as they become available – on this page, via the Swanny Shorebreak eNewsletter, directly emailing those that have registered an interest and via the SNSLSC Higher Awards Facebook page (link available on the Swanbourne Nedlands surf lifesaving club private group).
